COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A member of the Coldwater Planning Commission expressed his displeasure Monday night with the amount of time it has taken for the City of Coldwater to put together a Landscaping Ordinance.
City Planner Dean Walrack said the staff is continuing to flesh out a framework for amendments to the ordinance and will have a draft distributed shortly.
Plan Commission member Dave Rumsey felt the city was taking way too much time on this.
Aloha Miller, who announced her retirement as Planning Commission Chair later in the meeting, disagreed with Rumsey.
The City of Coldwater brought in consultant Jill Bahm from Giffels Webster in June of 2019 in hopes she could help rectify numerous complaints about some of the ordinances and zoning policies that have developed in Coldwater over the years.
In one case, Mark and Kathy Barone from Dutcher Funeral Home expressed frustrations in 2018 about the addition of what they felt were an unreasonable amount of trees, bushes and islands as part of a parking lot expansion.
