Norman “Butch” Wisman, 81, of Bronson, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Deacon John Wielgos officiating. Private interment will take place at Bronson Cemetery. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00AM on Monday at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Butch was born June 29, 1940 in Williams County, Ohio to Ray & Eva (Bauer) Wisman. After his graduation from Montpelier High School, he married Marilyn Wolfe on July 11, 1959 in Montpelier. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2018 after 58 years together.
Butch worked for Earth Tech Environment Co. in Grand Rapids for 22 years, retiring in 2008. He also worked for Miller Hardware, D&R Lumber, Mohawk Tools and operated his own “Butch’s Workshop”.
Butch was a life member and past president of the Bronson Bowling Association, member and past president of Kiwanis and served 16 years on the Bronson Fire Department. He loved to fish and was a skilled woodworker. Butch enjoyed teaching his grandkids how to use power tools and build things.
Butch is survived by his children Roger (Rose) Wisman of Bronson, Al (Bobbette) Wisman of Hudson, Rhonda (Danny) Wisman-Williams of Quincy; his grandchildren Joeby (Brittany) Wisman, Justin (Amanda) Pfenning, Jessica (Alex) Wheaton, Rachel (Brian) Tellish, Ryan Wisman, Amanda (Brandon) Bishop, Wyatt (Cailie) Williams; his great grandchildren Connor, Carley, Taylor, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Caitlyn, Jace, Zander, Aurora, Phoenix, Josh, Teagan, Emalynne, Zoey & Eleanor; his special family Holly (Todd) Cranson, Annie McGuire, Caleb & Avery Reese. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Luke.
Memorials may be directed to the Bronson Volunteer Fire Department.
