BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council ruled mostly in favor of the owner of a rental property at 602 East Railroad Street on Monday evening’s in a dispute he had with the city and SAFEbuilt out of Athens which performs safety inspections for the city.
Integra Homes LLC contested fees along with the fines for non-compliance with the city’s rental housing ordinance which totaled $360. After an hour discussion with representatives from the two sides, Council determined the property owner would only pay a $70 reinspection fee after violations were found in May.
According to documents in the Council packet, an inspection found there were issues with electrical outlets and batteries missing out of a pair of smoke alarms.
