COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The opening week of the MHSAA volleyball state tournament continues tonight with all four county teams playing district semifinal matches. Coldwater takes on the Vicksburg Bulldogs at 5 p.m. in the Class B District at Paw Paw where the Lady Cardinals rallied Monday night to beat Edwardsburg in a 5-game comeback victory. Vicksburg drew a first round bye. In the other semifinal, it’s Paw Paw vs. Three Rivers with the district final scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday.
It’s a Branch County semifinal battle at the Homer Class C District with top-ranked Bronson facing off against Big 8 Conference co-champion Quincy at 7:30 p.m. In the opening semifinal at 6 p.m., Union City takes on Reading with both teams having drawn first round byes. Bronson also drew a bye into the semifinals while Quincy scored a first round 3-1 victory Monday night over Homer.
The district championship at Homer will be decided Thursday at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to next week’s regional at Bronson.
