It was a painful Friday night for the Detroit Lions as they lost a preseason game to the Buffalo Bills 24-20 at Ford Field. Detroit’s preseason record dropped to 0-3 and in the process they lost two more key players to injuries. Detroit linebacker Jarrad Davis was carted off the field early in the first quarter with an injured right leg and center Frank Ragnow had to be helped off the field after appearing to hurt his right knee.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford played for the first time in the preseason. He was 12 of 19 for 137 yards with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ty Johnson early in the second quarter. Lions kicker Matt Prater booted a 61-yard field goal as the first half ended.
