ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Lions will hold three joint practices with the New England Patriots this week leading up to the exhibition opener Thursday night at Ford Field.
Meanwhile, the Lions cut wide receiver Deontez Alexander and signed defensive back Tavarus McFadden.
The Lions finished in last place in the NFC North last year with a 6-10 record in their first season under head coach Matt Patricia. Detroit has not made the playoffs since the 2016 season, and has just one playoff win in 1991 since winning the NFL championship in 1957.
