MUSKEGON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Getty Drive In, located in Muskegon, will close its 77th season this weekend with final double-features showing on Friday and Saturday.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with movies beginning at 7:00 p.m.
“It’s been another memorable year for the Getty,” General Manager Kevin Sims said in a statement. “Folks rediscovered the magic and nostalgia of seeing movies outdoors in 2020, when we all gathered in different, sometimes strange and fun ways. And, lots have come back, because it’s the real deal. I love the experience we’ve been able to create, season after season.”
Fifth Annual Halloween at the Getty –
This year’s festivities will be on Saturday, October 30. Trunk or Treat will be held at the giant Screen One, with costume prizes and a family movie double feature.
- 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Trunk-or-Treat: Bring candy to share! Decorate your car!
- 6:30 – 7:00 Announcement of Prizes: Best Costumes and Car Decorations
- 7:10 – Addam’s Family 2, followed by Ron’s Gone Wild
Other double features for the weekend will include the following:
- Dune, followed by Malignant
- Ghostbusters ‘84, followed by Venom: Let There Be Carnage
- Last Night in Soho, followed by Halloween Kills
- Ron’s Gone Wild, followed by Addam’s Family 2 (on Friday, October 29)
Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for kids (ages 6-12). Admission for children 5 and under is free for all shows on October 29 & 30.
