COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s boys tennis team placed fifth as the Michigan High School Athleitc Association Division 3 Lower Peninsula Finals concluded Saturday in Holland. The Cardinals finished with 16 points, all accumulated during the first day of competition on Friday. No Cardinal players advanced to Saturday’s flight finals. Kam Miller and Shane O’Grady made it to the semifinals at #2 doubles before being eliminated by the team from Detroit Country Day. All four singles players made it to the quarterfinals in their flights before being eliminated, as well as the #1 doubles and #4 doubles teams. Complete results are available at the MHSAA website.
At Michigan State University’s Forest Akers West Golf Course, Coldwater placed 15th out of fifteen teams as the MHSAA Division 3 Lower Peninsula Girls Golf Finals concluded. The Lady Cardinals shot a 451 on Friday and a 441 on Saturday for a two-day team score of 892. Individually, Haley Linton led the team with a two-day score of 216, one stroke behind Jayla Goodwin. Claire Sheppard shot a 227, Gabriel Boston a 235, and Madison Donbrock a 236. Complete results are available at the MHSAA website.
