NIAMEY (Reuters) – At least 11 soldiers have been killed in an attack in southwest Niger, a senior local official and two security sources told Reuters.
The exact circumstances and date of the attack were not immediately clear. Two sources said it occurred near the village of Anzourou near the border with Mali, an area overrun with militants from a local affiliate of Islamic State.
