COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Polly Parsons was recently named the Community Health Center of Branch County (CHC) August Employee of the Month. She has been an employee of CHC since June 1976. Polly is a discharge planner in the quality services department and assists patients and their families with a plan of care after discharge to ensure a smooth transition to the next level of care.
Parsons graduated from Parkview School of Nursing in 1978 and became a nurse aide for CHC after completing her “OJT” position. She then completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in 1995 for management of health services.
According to her nominator, “Polly works with all physicians, and goes the extra mile to make sure the patients’ discharge issues are all taken care of. She is always enthusiastic about her work and performs with a smile; usually staying after hours to make sure things are done correctly. Polly is dedicated, positive, and willing to help out and do anything she is asked. She is definitely a team player and works well with those around her.”
Parsons lives with her husband of twenty-six years, Robert; a retired quality control manager. Together they have two children Nathan and Marlaina and five grandchildren: are Merian, Noah, Joshua, Hannah, and Lydia. In her free time Polly enjoys gardening, canning, baking, and traveling. She is an active member of the Lockwood Church.
