BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Today is Veterans Day, the federal holiday which celebrates the service of all military members. All federal offices are closed today, and no mail will be delivered.
The Branch County Courthouse is closed as well.
The Coldwater American Legion Post 52 hosted a brief program as part of their Veterans Day open house.
American Legion Auxiliary President Chris Ankner thanked veterans and their families for their sacrifices.
She added veterans truly are heroes.
The Burnside Center held its Veterans Day program on Wednesday after it had to be cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guest speaker Dave Keeton talked about his work on the “Military Working Dog” commemorative postage stamp.
The Burnside Center’s Wall of Heroes also returned, displaying pictures of Branch County service members from all eras.
