OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Bella Vista Golf Course has received the Rotary District 6360 Foundation’s Golden Trowel Award.
The awards are given to non-Rotarian individuals, groups or organizations who have made a major contribution to a Rotary project.
The Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary nominated Bella Vista Golf Course for its significant, long-term support of its annual golf outing.
The outing which is held every June is one of two major fundraisers conducted by the club.
It provides over half of the approximately $40,000 raised each year by the club providing support to the many programs, projects, and individuals within the community.
The outing has been held at Bella Vista Golf Course for the last 12 years.
The club says owner Ron Cary and his staff provide outstanding support as they close the course to allow the event on a Friday in the middle of the summer.
Friday is one of the busiest days of the week for play.
Oscar Brown’s Tavern was also thanked for their contribution to the success of the event. They assist with menu planning, provide fair prices for any food and beverages that are needed for the event and provide the use of the banquet facilities at no cost.
Current Sunrise Rotary president Shari Deevers says “It was easy to nominate Bella Vista for the award. Bella Vista Golf Course is not just a place to hold our event, they are partners that contribute to the success of the event.”
