HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – It appears the Interstate Eight Conference will have a new member for next year, which will be the third year for the I-8. Charlotte has asked to move back to their previous league, the Capital Area Activities Conference and that prompted the Interstate 8 Athletic Directors to meet last month to explore their options with the I-8 looking at losing a member school. The AD’s decided to extend an invitation to Hastings to fill the Charlotte opening.
It’s expected that Hastings school officials will give final approval to join the Interstate Eight and it would take effect for the 2016-2017 school year. Hastings is currently a member of the Ottawa-Kent Conference Gold Division.
Coldwater and Hastings at one time played in the same league years ago in the old Twin Valley Conference.
