COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday that the county’s proposed 2022 budget is balanced.
Norman said they tapped into their fund balance which was at 27 percent to accommodate requests from the Sheriff’s Department for equipment and manpower and to give county employees a pay raise.
Commissioners Leonard Kolcz and Tim Stoll were pleased the Sheriff’s Department funding needs were being met.
Norman indicated the county’s health insurance costs for 2022 have not been determined yet but premiums are expected to go up significantly.
Also expected to be financial issues for the county in 2022 will be the increased costs for just about everything and inflation.
