OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Conservative businessman and political outsider Kevin Rinke Monday officially announced his campaign for governor of Michigan.
Rinke is the former owner of the Rinke Automotive Group in southeast Michigan, one of the nation’s oldest car dealership groups. He has been exploring a bid for months, and said he is prepared to spend at least $10 million.
He is the 11th Republican in a field that includes former Detroit police chief James Craig, chiropractor Garrett Soldano, and ex-online news host Tudor Dixon.
“I’ve traveled all over Michigan and met with countless families and small business owners and employees. They are honest, smart, tough and resilient people. They want a leader to put an end to Governor Whitmer’s assault on our values and our way of life. I’m fighting for their kids, their jobs, and their future and I won’t back down,” Rinke said.
