Grace Athalia Reynolds, 98, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Julie Elmore from the United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater.
Grace was born September 23, 1923, in Coldwater, MI to Clesson & Louvetta (Kimble) Reynolds, graduating from Coldwater High School in 1941.
She was an accountant and had worked from 1941 – 1958 for Homer Foundry and then from 1958 – 1990 for Climax Corporation until her retirement.
Grace was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, Maple Lawn Auxiliary and numerous other civic organizations. She was actively involved in the Sweet Adeline’s for 53 years, traveling nationally and internationally to perform. She was named Sweet Adeline of the year in both 1976 and 1991 and named Outstanding Sweet Adeline in 1998. Since 1945, Grace had been active in the Coldwater American Legion Auxiliary, serving as past president and Girls State Chairman. She was past president of the former Business and Professional Women’s Club in Coldwater and has been a longtime volunteer at Tibbits Opera House. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, bird watching and flower gardening. Grace was very giving of herself to others and she loved people. She was very proud of her community and her country, serving them both with great dedication.
Grace is survived by her Godchild Jenni Swanson and her children Heather, Ryan & Ashlee; many cousins including Bonnie Prough of Union City; her special friends Jane Hurley, Ruth Adams, Barb Arlt and Dan Swick all of Coldwater; and many other special friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Clesson “Bud” Reynolds in 1990.
