COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who was found by the Michigan State Police last July to be in possession of sexually explicit materials involving children entered guilty pleas to pair of felonies on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
34-year-old Robert Sloan admitted his guilt to two counts of being in possession of child sexually abusive material.
In exchange for his pleas, prosecutors will dismiss four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials as well as a charge of using a computer to commit a crime.
A sentencing hearing was scheduled for January 24.
According to Branch County court documents, a State Police investigator obtained a search warrant for Sloan’s residence which allowed him to seize electronic devices. The report stated about 250 sexually explicit photographs involving young children were found on the computer, phone, and hard drive.
Documents also state that Sloan told investigators he downloaded the images and that he had been doing it for years.
