SHERWOOD, MI (WTVB) – Drunk driving appears to have been a factor in a rollover accident with injuries Sunday afternoon in Branch County’s Sherwood Township. Sheriff’s deputies said Sherwood firefighters who were first on the scene on Blossom Road discovered the driver had fled and walked to a nearby residence. Deputies were able to get the female driver to come to the door and she was taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County for treatment of her injuries.
The investigation showed 61-year old Kim Saidla of Sherwood was driving her 1998 Mercedes Benz east on Blossom Road when she left the road, hit several large rocks and came to rest against a tree. The crash, which was reported around 2:40 p.m. yesterday, remains under investigation.
