INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTVB) – Several outlets report the Indianapolis Colts are the front runners to ink veteran quarterback Philip Rivers when the free agency signing period begins next month.
The San Diego Chargers announced they are parting ways with Rivers. Indianapolis coaches Frank Reich and Nick Sirianni worked with Rivers while with the Chargers.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard said the jury is still out on 27-year-old Jacoby Brissett, who succeeded Andrew Luck at quarterback.
The Colts could also draft a quarterback and have been linked to Utah State’s Jordan Love at the NFL Combine.
