COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission formally recommended proposed changes to the city’s landscaping ordinance on Monday night.
City Planner Dean Walrack said the changes were drafted to provide more clarity and direction on the City’s development expectations and to provide for some relief from standards which have been out-of-scale with other requirements or difficult to administer.
The changes would also provide a framework by which an applicant may propose an alternative plan for the Planning Commission to review.
Walrack said the ordinance now moves onto the City Council for their action.
He said he has received no public comments since the notice was published and after nearly two years of discussion, there were no comments during Monday’s public hearing.
Before the brief meeting was adjourned, Walrack said the Planning Commission can expect a couple of items over the next couple of months.
He added city staff was getting ready to apply for the next round of Neighbor Enhancement Program grants which are administered by MHSDA. It provides $40,000 in grants to communities which are earmarked for home improvement projects.
