MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton has now confirmed that three vehicles have been hit by bullets and as many as 2 others have been hit by something. The latest incidents happened in the past two days.
They are pretty sure now that there is a sniper out there taking pot shots at cars and trucks passing on I-94 and I-69. The first verified incident occurred on August 19th. The last two occurred on Wednesday near I-94’s 100 mile marker and Thursday of this week near mile marker 40 on I-69. Trucks were the targets.
Sheriff Saxton says if your vehicle is hit by a projectile, don’t stop. Instead, note the mile marker where the incident took place and then drive off the next exit and call 911. He also encourages people to be vigilant while traveling this holiday weekend
The FBI has now joined the investigation.
