JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Lady Cards notched their first win of the season with a 43-36 victory on Friday night at Lumen Christi.
Coldwater trailed 33-31 with just under three minutes remaining but a Lumen technical foul ignited a 12-3 run to close out the game.
Elli Foley made 8 of 9 free throws during the run and finished with a team high 15 points to go along with 8 steals, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.
Brooklyn Kerry and Elli Anderson each had a team high 7 rebounds.
Coldwater improves to 1-1 and will travel to Hastings next Friday.
Also in girls basketball on Friday night, Bronson improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 8 Conference with a 60-39 win at Concord. Hayley Wilson scored a game-high 28 points for the Vikings while Aubree Calloway had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Quincy lost their Big 8 Conference opener at Reading 41-35. The Orioles are now 0-2.
