BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – After the Union City Invitational had to be cancelled on Saturday, the Coldwater and Union City wrestling teams had to change venues in order to compete on Saturday. Coldwater went 2-2 at the Portland Team Dual meet. The Cardinals defeated Saranac 53-18 and Bangor 45-27 but were beaten by Portland 54-21 and Gaylord 75-6. The short handed Cardinals had to void four weight classes. Tre Miller went 4-1 for Coldwater. Landing Birk and Hunter Munson both went 3-1. The Union City Chargers traveled to Concord High School on Saturday for the 36th Annual Grover Invitational and they won the tournament championship. The Chargers finished first out of 13 teams with 12 of 14 entrants placing. Championships were won by Landyn Crance (130), Brayton Mears (140), Colton Russell (145) and Garrett Iobe (171).
