BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber has thanked numerous people who he calls amazing people following last Tuesday’s fire which destroyed a decades old farm house on the Caudill property on West Central Road.
He thanked Bronson firefighters who have 484 combined years of service to the Bronson community and the area fire departments who provided mutual aid.
Wilber also thanked Lifecare Ambulance, Branch County 911 dispatchers, the American Red Cross and the Branch County Sheriff’s Department in his post on the Bronson Fire Department Facebook page.
Wilber praised the bystanders and workers at DTC – Caudill & Sons Metals for jumping in and helping his department get equipment set up when arriving on scene and rescuing an occupant from the house prior to their arrival.
Others thanked were the Caudill Family for remaining calm during a stressful situation and supporting fire departments throughout the fire as well as Nancy Stutzman, Tim Weage and Carolyn Weage for making sandwiches for the firefighters on scene.
Pizza was also provided by Gary Younce of State Farm Insurance and The Bronson Strike Zone.
Wilber also pointed out Bronson, Gilead, Noble, Matteson, Batavia, Bethel Townships, and the City of Bronson provide them with the equipment and apparatus needed to carry out their mission safely, effectively, and efficiently. Wilber said, “The people who live in the Bronson Fire District who support the fire millage needed to fund the fire department. Finally, to those who stop and say a prayer for the firefighters and the people who are suffering an emergency. It takes an entire community to make a successful fire department and I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your support. We could not carry out our mission without it.”
