CAMDEN, MI (WTVB) – Camden-Frontier schools were forced to close for a second time on Monday after another threat was made against the district late Sunday night.
The threat was brought to the attention of school officials very early Monday morning and they decided to close down the district. According to a post on the district’s Facebook page was made, “to be absolutely certain our students and campus are safe.”
All events were canceled for Monday in the Camden-Frontier school district which included practices, a Christmas concert and school board meeting.
School officials say the Michigan State Police visited the homes of the students involved in the threat. They spoke with them and their parents and determined there is no risk to the general student body or staff as it relates to this event.
School in the Camden-Frontier district is scheduled to resume on Tuesday morning. Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office deputies and/or State Police troopers will regularly be on campus this week for safety reasons. Officials say their presence is not a sign of a new problem.
