Justin Scott Ash, 37, of Battle Creek, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Battle Creek.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Justin was born November 1, 1982 in Coldwater, Michigan to Harold and Merna (Cross) Ash. He grew up in Sherwood, but later moved to Battle Creek, where he finished school. On July 17, 2004, Justin married the former Penny Odette in Kinderhook, MI. The couple resided in Battle Creek and Minnesota.
Over the years, Justin worked at Midwest Foundry and most recently for The Gutter Guy. He was also self-employed for a time, doing car repair, tree work and remodeling. He was always busy and enjoyed figuring out ways to fix things. Fearless and stubborn, Justin enjoyed proving people wrong. He was also quite a prankster.
Justin was full of life and loved life. He liked being outside and hunting, fishing, kayaking and auto racing. He loved the 4th of July and playing with fire. He enjoyed giving and getting tattoos. Justin was a very social person. A lot of people knew him and considered him a friend. If somebody needed something, he was there. Family meant everything to him and he was protective of them. He consistently put those he cared about ahead of himself.
