CLARKSTON, MI (WTVB) – Troopers from the Michigan State Police Post in Coldwater and across the State are mourning one of their own after a deadly accident along I-75 north of Detroit with the at fault driver apparently unaware that he had struck anyone. A 72-year old man, hauling an empty trailer behind his car, apparently hit the Trooper’s patrol motorcycle as the man was attempting to get onto I-75 at Dixie Highway in the Clarkston area Friday morning. State Police Director, Col. Kristie Kibbie-Etue says the Trooper, identified as 38-year old Chad Wolf, a veteran officer and father of four survived the accident but died later at the hospital. The officer’s wrecked motorcycle was discovered by another MSP officer passing by. Funeral services are pending. Tributes and memorials have been streaming into his assigned post out the 2nd District in Taylor.
