Becky Ann Cole, 56, of Union Township, passed away at home on Sunday, May 3, 2020 under the care of her family.
She will be honored at a private graveside service at Sherwood Township Cemetery.
Becky was born April 15, 1964 in Sturgis, MI to Lonzie and Beverly (Jacobs) Cole. Becky grew up in Sherwood and lived her entire life in the Sherwood and Union City areas.
After graduating from Union City High School in 1982, she earned an associate’s degree in dietary management. She worked in that field for over 30 years at the former Carriage Inn and Maple Lawn in Coldwater, and then at The Laurels of Bedford, retiring eight years ago due to health issues.
Becky was hardworking, practical and spunky. She enjoyed sports and was an outstanding softball player. She really loved watching baseball and was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan. Becky enjoyed spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. She and her father were close and mutually supportive, but too much alike.
Her sister, Dianna, took extra good care of Becky as her health declined. In January of this year Becky’s cousin, Tina, took her on a bucket-list trip to Vegas. Their adventure made for an unforgettable time and a lasting memory.
Left to cherish their memories of Becky are her father, Lonzie Cole of Union City; her siblings, Terry Cole of Sherwood, Dianna Cole of Sherwood and Jerry “Buck” Cole of Union City; a niece, Kate (Tim) Cole of Quincy; a nephew, Logan Cole of Union City; a great-nephew, Easton Cornell of Quincy; and her “honorary sister” cousin Tina Cummins of Battle Creek.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Cole (2008) and an infant sister, Sherry Ann Cole (1961).
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
