Agnes Joan “Aggie” Redmond, 88, of Athens, passed away at home Friday, April 24, 2020 under the care of Elara Caring Hospice.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Union City at a later date. Interment will be at Battle Creek Memorial Park.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation of Union City.
Aggie was born August 24, 1931 in Brooklyn, MI to Alphonsus J. and Helen M. (Bartlett) Bauer. She grew up in Jackson County and graduated from St. Mary Catholic School in Jackson in 1950. She went on to attend nursing school at Lansing Community College and became an LPN.
Aggie was employed by St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Jarvis Acres Retirement Home in Diamondale and Mercy Pavilion in Battle Creek. On May 24, 1986, she married Charles “Charlie” Redmond at St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek. The couple belonged to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Aggie enjoyed reading the Bible, traveling, putting together puzzles and collecting turtles.
She is survived by Charlie, her husband of 33 years; four daughters; seven step-children; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; her sisters, Mary (Dale) Wallace of Jackson, Bernadette (Gary) Pahlberg of Minnesota, Theresa (John) Trudell of Florida and Sister of Mercy Ann Rita Bauer of Farmington Hills; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and six god-children.
Aggie was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
