Daniel Harrison Powell, 46, of Coldwater, formerly of Union City, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Daniel was born on November 11, 1973 in Colorado Springs, CO to Helen Turley. He attended Union City High School and lived in Union City most of his life. On August 26, 1999, he married Renae Swope in Calhoun County, MI. Daniel worked at Tenneco in Litchfield, Alchem Aluminum in Coldwater and Orland Machine Products in Indiana. He was a good-hearted, caring and giving person who would do anything for you. Daniel was a good friend and a great step-father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, “Little Pippy.” He was a big hockey fan and liked volunteering at the Hidden Ponds horse rescue in Coldwater.
Survivors include Daniel’s wife, Renae Powell of Union City; step-children, Ryan Michielsen of Union City and Rachel (Sean) Galvin of Coldwater; his parents, Norm and Tanya Powell of Tekonsha; grandchildren Alexis Galvin, Bryson Henderson and Ethan DeWater; his siblings, Tammy Riversong of Battle Creek, Michael (Tara) Powell of Union City, Tawny Shepherd of Tekonsha, Christopher (Lisa) Powell of Union City, Rob (Gina) Dow of South Carolina, Darrell (Mishon) Powell of Union City and Tyler (Ellen) Powell of Ft. Morgan, CO; and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother.
