Robert Lee Rice, 69, of Batavia Township, passed away at home.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
Robert was born on November 17, 1950 in Battle Creek, MI to Marion and Elizabeth (Beard) Rice. After graduating from Colon High School in 1969, he married the former Marcia G. Eaton, who preceded him in death in 2014.
Robert drove truck and farmed for Oak Prairie Farms and Freeman Riddle, Sr., until retiring in 2012. He resided in Colon most of his life until he moved to Coldwater seven years ago.
Survivors include Roberts’s sons, James Rice of Stephenson and Allen Rice of Coldwater; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
