Virginia Ann King, 82, of Tekonsha, passed away Friday, February 7. 2020 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the First Baptist Church, 914 N. Main Street, Tekonsha with Pastor Brian Perry officiating. Interment will be at Windfall Cemetery in Tekonsha Township at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020, just prior to the funeral, also at the First Baptist Church.
Virginia was born on May 11, 1937 in Tekonsha Township to Leslie and Verna (Granes) Rogers. She graduated from Tekonsha High School and lived most of her life in the Tekonsha community. On June 6, 1961 she was united in marriage to Art King, who preceded her in death in 2007.
Virginia worked in machine operation and maintenance at Marshall Brass. She also served as a secretary for Tekonsha Community Schools. She was very mechanically-inclined and loved to work on cars and motors.
She was an outgoing person who enjoyed traveling, getting together with long-time friends and spending time with her grandkids. Virginia especially loved hummingbirds and watching them hover around the feeders she maintained for them.
Survivors include Virginia’s two sons, Steven (Lisa) King of Union City and John (Ginny) King of Tekonsha; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Brandi) King, Jessica (Juan) Rodriguez, Alicia (Shawn) Hare, Ashley King, Chance King, Adrianna King and John “J.J.” King; great-grandchildren Annika King, Nevaeh Rodriguez, Javen King and Nala Rodriguez; and her siblings, Bessie (Rex) Krieg of Burlington, L.G. (Joann) Rogers of Tekonsha and Judy Rogers of Athens, TN.
In addition to her husband, Art, Virginia was preceded in death by her granddaughters Emily and Brianna King (2000) and her great grand-daughter, Luna King (2019).
