Shirley Ann Jeffries, 74, of Burlington, passed away at home Friday, January 24, 2020, surrounded by her family, under the care of Grace Hospice.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City. Interment will follow at Burlington Township Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral at 1:00 PM at Lighthouse.
Shirley was born on July 20, 1945 to William and Doris (Dunn) Morgan in Battle Creek. On October 4, 1961 she married Kenneth Jeffries in Kalamazoo, MI. The couple was married 57 years at the time of Kenneth’s death in 2019.
Shirley worked for Coldwater Regional Mental Health Center and also was a school bus driver in Coldwater, Union City and Tekonsha. She liked helping people and enjoyed shopping, crafting, crocheting, riding motorcycles, and taking care of her dogs.
Shirley was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Burlington, where she helped in the Community Center.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jacklyn (Harley) Gibson of Burlington, Debbie (Howard) Upston of Tekonsha and Christine McGee of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joyce Aldrich of Union City.
In addition to her husband, Kenneth, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rodney Jeffries (2012); her adopted son, Lee Hamilton (1987); and her grandson, Jack Gibson (2019).
