Kenneth Wayne Goheen, 91, of Battle Creek, formerly of Tekonsha, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at The Oaks of Northpointe Woods in Battle Creek.
A private graveside service will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Wayne was born on October 28, 1928 to Fred and Lulu (Trine) Goheen in Battle Creek. He graduated from Tekonsha High School with the Class of 1946 and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. On May 28, 1949 he married the former Dorothy Jean Hannah in Tekonsha, together they shared 70 wonderful years.
Wayne worked at Eaton Corporation in Marshall, retiring in 1991 after 25 years. He also was employed by Perma Built Homes in Marshall for 15 years. Wayne enjoyed reading and square dancing with the Curlieques. He was a great storyteller and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are Wayne’s wife, Dorothy Goheen, of Battle Creek; his children, David Goheen of Battle Creek, Fred (Cynthia) Goheen of Tekonsha and Geneva Goheen of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Glenn (Ruth) Goheen of Battle Creek; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Randy Lee Goheen; an infant son; his brothers, Fred, Joe, Chet, and George Goheen; and his sisters Jeanetta and Lillian.
