Laura
Hazel (Tackett) Alomari, 39, of LaGrange, IN, formerly of Tekonsha, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in LaGrange in an automobile accident.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be
held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Lighthouse Funeral &
Cremation in Union City with Pastor Tony Mullins of Lift Jesus Higher Church of
Wolcottville, IN officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at
Lighthouse in Union City.
Laura was born on September 15, 1980 in
Coldwater, MI to Della Prater and Jimmy Tackett. She attended Tekonsha High
School, where she participated in drama, was a member of the marching band and
graduated in 1999.
As an adult, Laura worked as a home health aide for many
years. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and had a lot of compassion for
them. Laura attended the Lift Jesus Higher Church in Wolcottville, IN.
She loved
gospel music, going to the movies, spending time with family and friends and
getting her nails done. Laura didn’t know a stranger, she was always the life
of the party. Her son, Preston, was a momma’s boy. They spent a lot of quality
time together, going out for dinner and movies and sitting around laughing.
Laura is survived by her son, Preston
Alomari of Colon; her mother and step-father, Della and Ken Dormer of Colon; her
father, Jimmy Tackett of Salyersville, KY; her sister, Mary (Chip) Hays of
Burlington; a nieces and nephews Devin Hays, Casey Hays, Shayla Hays, Robert
Hays, Tyler Hays, Charles Hays, III, and
several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her
grandparents, Jane “Maw Maw” and Thurman Prater.
