BUCHANAN, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers boys basketball team improved to 3-1 on Saturday afternoon with a 47-45 non-conference victory at Buchanan.
The victory gave Head Coach Ben Chard his 100th career win.
After the two teams battled to a 19-19 halftime tie, the Chargers took control with a 19-10 third quarter which gave them a 38-29 lead heading into the final quarter.
Union City then had to hold off a Buchanan comeback. The Bucks used a 16-9 fourth quarter to get close but their rally fell short.
Kyle Johnson led Union City with 18 points while Terrance Morgan Junior added 12 points.
