COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – What to do about the aging tennis courts at Heritage Park? The Coldwater City Council will discuss the options at its regular meeting Monday night. The eight courts were built back in 1976 as a gift to the city at a cost of $60,000, plus $20,000 for the lights. They have been repaired and maintained four times over the years, most recently in 2009. It’s estimated that the existing courts have a life expectancy of two more years, as cracks to the asphalt surface continue to form. Several options for repair or reconstruction ranging from $100,000 to $575,000 will be be considered, along with funding from a variety of municipal, school, and community sources.
Council is also expected to act on a proposal to change the operation of the traffic light at the corner of State and Marshall Streets to a four-way flashing red pattern at night.
