Doris May Coffman, 95, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM,
Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater with Pastor Bob
Ward officiating.
The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in
Coldwater.
Doris was born on January 26, 1924 to Homer and Daisy
(Raymond) Stephenson in Brown City, Michigan. Her first marriage was to Francis
E. Loose, who sadly passed away on December 30, 1970. Doris then married Claude
Coffman and he also preceded her in death in 2006.
She was employed for
15 years as a cook at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater, retiring
in 1986. She had also worked during World War II in Detroit. Doris was active
at the Burnside Senior Center in Coldwater. She enjoyed square dancing, baking,
reading, word search puzzles and animals. She especially loved her
grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends.
Doris is survived by her children; Frank Loose of Coldwater,
Michael (Marcia) Loose of Middleville, Patrick Loose of Coldwater and Leslie
(Charles) Swan of Coldwater, her 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren;
her sisters; Twyla Mock of Coldwater and Barbara Harvey of Coldwater, her
sister in law; Dorothy Stephenson of Coldwater.
In addition to her husbands, she
was preceded in death by her grandson; Brock Donnelly, her brothers; Homer and
Max Stephenson and her sisters; Lorraine Urban and Norma Gaglio.
