Anthony Allen “Poogie” Puglia, Jr., 30, of Athens Township, passed away unexpectedly at home Sunday, September 29, 2019.
A celebration of Poogie’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 4, 2019 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City with Chaplain Kristy Smith officiating.
Poogie was born on July 25, 1989 in Battle Creek to Anthony and Debra (Zonker) Pugli, Sr. He grew up in Burlington and went through school with the Union City Class of 2008. For the past seven years he resided in the Athens area and most recently worked for Vanville Construction.
He was as hardworking as he was playful. Poogie was known as a nice guy with a big heart who would do anything for anybody. He was the life of the party and loved to dance and sing. He lived life in the moment, unfiltered, and didn’t care what other people thought. He was always himself.
Although he fit every redneck stereotype, Poogie was someone of deep and private thoughts. He loved people in general and his family and friends in particular. He was a good friend to those closest to him. Poogie loved Dodge trucks, pranking and embarrassing people. He enjoyed seeing other people laugh and be happy. His three decades of life were spent living life to the fullest.
Left fondly remembering Poogie are his parents, Anthony A. Pugli, Sr. of Athens and Debra Pugli of Union City; siblings, Daryl Diamond of Chicago, IL and Jami (Ryan Leonard) Johnson of Union City; his grandmother, Sandy Hiatt of Athens; nieces Hannah Blair and Laynie Leonard of Union City; and his girlfriend Sarah Lazarus and her daughter, Presley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean Musselman, Marshall Zonker and Milan Puglia.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Lighthouse, PO BOX 161, Union City, MI 49094 to help with final expenses.
