Daniel Lee Tagert, 64 of Bronson passed away Friday,
September 6, 2019 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel’s family will receive family and friends from
4:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Daniel will be cremated after the visitation and a memorial service will take
place at a later date at Bethel Gilead Community Church.
Daniel was born May 3, 1955 to Frank and Dorothy
(Bailey) Tagert in Battle Creek. He graduated from Coldwater High School and
took a few college courses before starting a long career as a semi driver.
Daniel started with Eckrich Meats in Quincy before accepting a driving position
with Walmart Transportation, where he worked for 20 years before health reasons
no longer allowed him to drive.
He married Diane Slagle on December 15, 2006
and they created many memories together over the past 13 years.
Daniel was a man of faith and a member of Bethel
Gilead Community Church. He was a proud member of the Walmart Safety Committee,
as position he took very seriously as he drove his entire career without an
accident.
Daniel was a big sports fan, also umpiring baseball, cheering for the
Detroit Tigers and serving as an athletic trainer. He enjoyed spending time
playing the drums and doing woodworking projects. Daniel was an avid University
of Michigan football fan “Go Blue”. He was a cowboy at heart and rarely seen
not in cowboy boots and a Stetson style hat.
Daniel will be remembered as being
a quiet, loving, giving, and dedicated man. He will be missed by many.
Daniel is survived by his wife Diane Tagert of
Bronson; his children from a previous marriage Nathan (Heidi) Tagert of St.
Lucie, FL, his twin sons Aaron (Alysha) Tagert of Washington D.C. and Brandon
(Chelsey) Tagert of Detroit and Autumn (Bradley) Stephens of Illinois; his
daughter-in-law Amanda Labadie Tagert of Waterford, MI; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother David L. Tagert; and
his sister Kimberly Paul.
Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Children’s
Hospital.
