John Joe Locklin, 77, of Coldwater passed away
Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater with Pastor
Shayne Looper of Lockwood Community Church officiating. Interment will follow
at Lester Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Dutcher
Funeral Home in Coldwater from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
John was born August 27, 1942 to McCager and Pauline
(Quimby) Locklin in Algansee Township. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1961
and then began a long working career. John worked at Quality Springs and the
State of Michigan for many years as well as being a farmer.
John was a long-time member of Lockwood Community
Church. Being a farmer, John was a true believer that John Deere was the only
brand of farm equipment. He was a very handy man, building his own home and
also maintenance on the farm. John enjoyed being outdoors, especially going
fishing.
The past few years, he liked watching western movies and historical
programs on television. John will be remembered for his gentle, loving, and
outgoing personality. He will be missed by many.
John is survived by his children John (Daphyne)
Locklin, Jr. of Coldwater and Anne (David St. Aubin) Soderberg of Harrison
Township; his siblings Teddy Locklin of Coldwater, Sharon (Johny) Brown of
Coldwater, and Patsy (Keith) Thornton of Sturgis; his grandchildren Mercedes
and Jessica Locklin; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and his brother Donald Locklin.
