Ruth A. Russell, 76, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastors Don Matteson and Doug Courrier from Batavia Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Ruth was born November 30, 1945 in Coldwater, MI to Ivan and Gertrude (Mason) Cox. She married Albert M. Russell on October 22, 1966 in Coldwater.
Ruth worked at Gambles for many years until its closing. She then served as the County Administrative Manager for Branch County Farm Bureau for several years. Ruth was a member of the Batavia Community Church where she actively supported the church missionaries.
She was an avid sports fan for the Detroit Tigers and MSU basketball and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. Ruth’s greatest joy came from time with her family. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events.
Ruth is survived by her husband Albert, her son and daughter-in-law Richard & Heather Russell of Union City, her grandchildren Nathan (Hanna) Russell, Michael (Sanora Finley) Russell, Dalton (Kyana Smolen)Russell, Haley (Joel) Jepson, Ellary Russell, Megann Russell; her great grandchildren Sophia, Korbin, Axel and Nash and her longtime friend Shirley Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her son Steve Russell, her sister Vera Renshaw and her brothers Richard and Wallace Cox.

I am sorry to hear of her passing. She was always so kind and loving, she will be missed! I just got home from the hospital and can not be there.
