Patricia “Patty” Trufant, 76, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Heritage Park Assisted Living in Fort Wayne.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Tim Rowland of the First Baptist Church of Bronson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Patricia was born November 9, 1945 to Grant and Mary (Crace) Hitchcock, Jr. in Paintsville, KY.
June 26, 1965 she married the love of her life, Richard Trufant in Arlington, VA. Together they made many memories. They moved to Coldwater in 2001 from Peru, IN. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2013.
Patty enjoyed spending time listening to music, playing games, solving crossword puzzles, and putting together puzzles. She also was an avid flower gardener. Patty will be remembered as the calm, gentle strength of her family. She was quiet, loving and always very positive. Her true joy in life was her devotion to her family.
Patty is survived by her mother Mary Carroll of Lebanon, OH; her son Daryl Trufant of Coldwater; her daughters Tina (James) Kilbride of Auburn, IN, Donna (John) Grogg of LaOtto, IN, and Jennifer (Ken Marcum) Hukalo of Ft. Wayne; her siblings Jim (Krista) Hitchcock of Hamilton, OH, Gary (Dixie) Hitchcock of Waynesville, OH, and Vicki Collins of Finley, OH; her 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her cat “Tommy”.
She was preceded in death by her father Grant Hitchcock; her husband of 48 years, Richard Trufant; 2 grandsons; and her brother-in-law John Collins.
