Wayne M. Taylor, 85, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Maple Lawn.
The funeral service will be Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater
with Chaplain AJ Dirschell officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be
Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Wayne was born May 11, 1933 in Coldwater, MI to Melvin & Ethel (Bush) Taylor. He graduated from
Coldwater High School in 1952 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Wayne married
Margaret A. Goshorn on August 28, 1955 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death on December 23,
2015.
Mr. Taylor worked for many years at Midwest Foundry as a truck driver and foremen. He later worked
for the Coldwater Community Schools in maintenance and mail delivery, retiring in May of 1996.
Wayne was a former member of the Coldwater Eagles and American Legion. He loved the outdoors;
hunting, gardening, working in the yard and just tinkering. Wayne loved socializing with others and his
family, especially his grandchildren who held a very special place in his heart.
Wayne is survived by his children Debra (Barry) Lindblom of Sturgis, Betty (Dick) McLatcher , David
(Cathleen) Taylor all of Coldwater, his brother Vernon Taylor of Coldwater, his grandchildren Julie (Phil)
Leighty, Jessica (AJ) Dirschell, Lisa (Ryan) Schumacher, Amanda (Aaron) Bucklin, Eric Taylor and Melissa
Taylor, his great grandchildren Zack, Katie, Ayden, Landon, Lexi, Karley, Brady, Ava, Audrina, Addyson
and Kayden, special friends Vicki Brockway, Bob & Amanda Tice and Todd & Sharon Richart. In addition
to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Pat Woods.
Memorials may be directed to the Coldwater Boys and Girls Basketball Teams.
