Verita Mae Delcamp, 86, of Hillsdale, earned her angel wings
on January 29, 2019 from Hillsdale Medical Care Facility.
She was born May 9,
1932 in Detroit to George and Theda (Willert) Marshall. Verita graduated from
Quincy High School in 1950.
She worked at Michigan Bell in Hillsdale from 1950 to 1952,
where she met her good friend and future sister-in-law Joan (Delcamp) Spahr.
She married Jack Delcamp in 1952. Verita drove school bus for Quincy Community
Schools for 22 years, loving every child as if they were her own. She was a
life member of the Allen United Methodist Church, where she was a trustee,
Sunday school teacher, summer bible school teacher and choir member.
Verita loved her family and is survived by one son, Mark
(Debbie) Delcamp of Quincy; daughter, Sarah (Tom) Taylor of Quincy; step
daughter, Debbie (Norm) Anderson of Rockport, Texas; five grandchildren,
Alicia, Adam, Lynn, Mark, Becky; five great grandchildren, Brianne, Kaitlyn,
Mikayla, Quintin and Leelah Joy; sister, Jacquline Pemberton of Litchfield
Park, Arizonia; six nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack;
brother, George (Red) Marshall Jr. and sister, Joan Rauschkolb.
Verita was a loving, caring person and will be profoundly
missed.
Funeral services for Verita will be Saturday February 2,
2019 at 1:00 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with
Pastor Larry Rubingh officiating.
The family
will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 12:00 until time of
service at the funeral home. A private
family interment will be held at a later date in Allen Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Allen United Methodist
Church.
