COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Area businesses, golfers and individuals who turned out August 7th at the Coldwater Golf Course for a fun time in support of the Tibbits Opera Foundation with the first Golf Par-Tee and Night Golf event grossed over $13,000 for the evening. With the number of golf events in the area, the Tibbits Golf Committee decided to change the theatre’s annual golf tournament for a new fresh event while still focused on raising funds for the annual operations of the historic theatre. The event brought 11 teams to play nine holes of golf in the dark with glow balls, lighted flags on the green, flashlights and glow sticks on the carts. The fundraiser generated approximately $8500 in net proceeds.
The Tibbits Opera Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to engaging the community in arts and culture and preserving the historic Tibbits Opera House.
Its next major fundraising event is the annual Tibbits Auction on Saturday, November 7 with this year’s theme “In the Emerald City!”
