LAWTON, MI (WTVB) – Union City and Bronson both went 4-1 on Wednesday at the Bryan Sosinski Memorial Tournament hosted by Lawton.
The Chargers defeated Constantine 60-18, Manchester 54-22, Carson City Crystal 63-6 and Decatur 64-18. Union City was beaten by Clinton 49-21. Clinton is ranked second in Division Three.
The Vikings also lost to Clinton 65-6 while they defeated Decatur 51-25, Constantine 57-21, Manchester 51-27 and Carson City Crystal 76-3.
The latest team rankings from www.michigangrappler.com show both Branch County teams are ranked in the top ten in Division Four for the State of Michigan. The Vikings are ranked third while the Chargers were ranked eighth.
No results were reported on how Coldwater did at the Mike McCloughan Classic Dual Tournament at Portage Central.
Also in Branch County high school sports on Wednesday, Union City’s girls basketball team evened their record at 2-2 as they defeated Battle Creek St. Philip 47-37. The Charger boys defeated St. Philip 49-39 to improve their record to 4-1.
