COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council last night agreed to give City Manager Jeff Budd the green light to proceed with plans to move ahead with one of three proposed Grand Street intersection improvement projects. They decided to go with the Grand-Marshall intersection and as for the other two, the consensus basically was, in the words of several councilmembers, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
The other proposed reconfigurations were for the Grand-Hanchett-Pierce Streets and Taylor-Monroe-Grand. The Pierce-Hanchett-Grand intersection was going to be torn up anyway for the construction of the force main for the Clemens Food Group Project.
Budd assured the Council that the preliminary price tag for the Grand-Marshall improvements of $200,000 was miscalculated and only requires a negligible cost with no easements necessary.
