COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Coalition against Domestic Violence and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services are gearing up for a special two day seminar titled “Trauma-informed Care, A Community Response. It’s free and it’s happening September 1 and 2, 2015 at the Dearth Community Center in Coldwater, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The featured speakers include two leaders of the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, the policy director and the policy attorney and also another lawyer who is an Antrim County prosecutor and a certified trainer on domestic and sexual violence investigation and prosecution.
Organizers say the training is ideal for multidisciplinary professionals committed to creating change in their community and providing an improved response to survivors of trauma. The free seminar includes lunch and training materials. You should RSVP by calling 278-SAFE by August 28.
