COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After being forced to reschedule its annual event last March due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Power of the Purse in Branch County still managed to raise a record amount of money.
It was posted on the event’s Facebook page on Tuesday that just under $52,000 was raised for the Branch County United Way Dolly Parton Imagination Library and other area needs.
Power of the Purse was held last Thursday, Friday and Saturday as a Walk Thru Event in Pierce Hall at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Normally, a lunch and a dinner are held but both events had to be cancelled due to state imposed crowd limitations.
The Power of the Purse has also posted the winning purses on Facebook.
If you’re a winner, you can pick up your purse at the Branch County United Way office at 87 Marshall Street in Coldwater.
You’re asked to send an email to director@branchcountyuw.org to set up a date and time to ensure someone will be at the office.
